Welcome to Wellstar MCG Health! We are excited that you have chosen to join our team. You will be attending the Wellstar Virtual New Team Member & Caregiver Orientation Session on your assigned Day 1 Monday Orientation beginning at 9:00AM – 12:00PM via Zoom. Please refer to your New Hire Welcome email that you received from your Preboarding Coordinator.

This is the first step of your official orientation to your new position at Wellstar. In this virtual session, you will learn more about Wellstar, our Mission, Vision and Values and requirements for you as a new Wellstar Team Member. 

On your DAY 1: please sign in to the Live Virtual TMCO Orientation Zoom Session by 8:45AM using this link- http://orientation.wellstar.org. The session begins at 9:00 AM and lasts until approximately 12:00n.

  • You will need your name, email address and Employee ID to register for the webinar.
  • It is recommended to download Google Chrome and Zoom onto your device.

Following the Orientation (TMCO) Zoom Session from approximately 12:00 PM – 5:30 PM, you will complete your self-paced online required learning TMCO module in Workday Learning.

Orientation Session Resource Links:

All Wellstar team members will be responsible for completing their online TMCO orientation course assigned in Workday Learning following the Virtual TMCO session on Day 1.

IMPORTANT: This course MUST be completed BEFORE new employees are cleared to perform care, treatment, or services for the health system. Please contact your manager if you need assistance.

New Hire Training Courses for Full-Time Employees:

  1. NHT300- New Hire Training Course: Must be completed within the first 30 days of employment.
  2. CLERY203- Clery Act Education Course OR REG130- Providers Version of Clery Act & Ethics Training Course: Must be completed within the first 30 Days of Employment

Required Courses for ALL New Hires: Must be completed within the first 30 days of employment:

  1. COM401- Annual Compliance & SQ: Emergency Preparedness Course
  2. Reg 303- Clinical Version of Regulatory Compliance Course OR Reg 304- Non-Clinical Version of Regulatory Compliance Course
  3. LVAD301- Clinical Version of LVAD Education Course OR LVAD302- Non-Clinical Version of LVAD Education Course
  4. CSE201- Code Stroke Education Course

Additional Annually Required Course for Providers Only: 

  1. PHY101- Providers Annual Education Course: Must be completed within the first 30 Days of Employment
  • Required Staff: RN/LPNs, Care Coordinators, Nurse Navigators, Acute Care Clinical Informaticist, PCT/PCA/CMAs, Surg Techs, Dialysis Techs, EMT/Paramedics, Mental Health Techs, Telemetry Technicians, Emergency Department Transporters, and Unit Clerks.
    • NOTE: EVS, RT/OT/PTs, NP/PAs, Patient Service Center CMAs, Hospital Wide Transporters or any other role not listed in “Required Staff”.
  • An email was sent to your PERSONAL email Friday from Jessica.Harvey2@wellstar.org (Check your spam folder) containing detailed information about the session.
    • PCSO agenda, other orientation sessions/contact information, attire, directions to room, and answers to other frequently asked questions.
  • Training is mandatory to work! Make sure you have everything ready to go BEFORE PCSO.
  • Attire: Designated Wellstar color scrubs or business casual (no jeans, shorts, flipflops/sandals, tank tops, crop tops, workout attire, non-Wellstar colored scrubs etc.)
  • Wellstar Single Source (Badging and Parking): You will need to park in your assigned lots, please allow travel time from your parking lot to the room. The Augusta University Parking website has an interactive map to help decide which shuttle is best for you and allow for real time tracking from the parking lot each day: https://www.augusta.edu/parking/shuttles.php. If you are working at a remote location or have other questions related to parking and badging, please call (706) 721 – 6943 or visit them at 1225 Walton Way, Augusta, GA 30901.  Please note that you will currently need 2 badges- an AU badge to get through doors and the Wellstar badge to be able to clock in and out. To help ensure that your badge is available for pick up during your first week, please send a professional style headshot to wmcg_singlesource@wellstar.org. The headshot should be against a solid background, show from the shoulder/chest up, and not be wearing hats, sunglasses, etc. (examples attached). When sending the email, make sure to include:
    Name: Last, First and then “Preferred Name”
    Dates: Date sent & start date

Days of the week might be changed if a holiday falls during the week. Example: If Monday is a holiday, Human Resources’ portion normally held Monday will be conducted Tuesday. PCSO would then be Wednesday & Thursday.

Nursing- RN-Temp/Travel Staff Onboarding Information:

Welcome and thank you for choosing to work with us at Wellstar MCG Health.  The Professional Development & Nursing Education Division will facilitate your onboarding.  All of your onboarding will be in person at the hospital.  You will receive an email from Nursing Education with detailed First Day Instructions the Friday before the scheduled start date.
